DekoBoko filter creates convex or concave button shape for a rectangular selection.
You can create varieties of buttons by selecting different patterns for the inside and the convex or concave outside region.
<Note>
This WRSSK-DekoBoko demo version only works with the Deko of outside bevel pattern and MonoColor mode.
This demo filter is 68K program type.
Supported color models -------------
RGB color and grayscale
Maximum width/height for selected areas is 7,000 pixels.
Minimum width/height for selected areas is 4 pixels.

Description for each control
<Outside-Block>
• <Outside Bevel Pattern menu>-------------
This menu has eight patterns for the outside bevel.
(1) Deko: Extruded button with a light source at the upper left
(2) Boko: Indented button with a light source at the upper left
(3) Slope-OutIn: Protruded button with emphasized three-dimensional effect
(4) Slope-InOut: Dented button with emphasized three-dimensional effect
(5) Swing-In: Button with the four edges pinched up
(6) Swing-Out: Button with the four edges sunk down
(7) Gradient-TL: Button which gets gradually darker from the upper left and brighter from the center
(8) Gradient-BR: Button which gets gradually brighter from the center and darker from the upper left
• <Outside Bevel Balance control>-------------
The transition becomes greater as the value increases. The values are 1 to 100%.
The effect of this parameter setting is displayed in the rectangular Real-Time Viewer.
For DekoBevel and BokoBevel patterns, proportions of the four parts are displayed in the Real-Time Viewer.
For other patterns, a slope is displayed in the Real-Time Viewer.
• <Outside Bevel Level control>-------------
A smaller value makes the color darker. The values are -100 to +100.
Like Balance control, the effect of this parameter setting is displayed in the rectangular Real-Time Viewer.
• <Outside Bevel Size slider>-------------
This slider determines the size of outside bevel. The value of "MAX" is the maximum value.
Parameter Viewer at the center reflects the bevel size in proportion to the input image size.
Please note that the preview in Parameter Viewer is a fixed sized landscape button and it does not show the button shape at the aspect ratio of the input image.
• <Outside Bevel Divisions setting>-------------
This setting determines the number of divisions of the outside bevel. DekoBoko filter applies a different filtering method to different divisions. You can choose from 1, 2 or 4.
• <Outside Bevel Parts Balance menu>-------------
This menu is available for DekoBevel and BokoBevel patterns. You can change the difference between divisions when bevel is divided into two parts or four.
You can choose among Standard, Far Distance and Near Distance. Standard makes the difference in balance between divisions nearly even. Far Distance makes the difference in balance between highlight division and shadow one bigger. Near Distance makes the difference smaller.
• <OutsideHilight/OutsideShadow>-------------
For DekoBevel and BokoBevel the these two functions are available. The greater the hilight level the brighter the edge exposed to the light source will be, and the greater the shadow level the darker the edge away from the light source will be.
<Inside-Block>
• <Inside Pattern menu>-------------
You can select a pattern for the inside of the bevel.
There is one flat pattern and four graded patterns for the inside of the bevel.
This menu shows an icon of the pattern beside each menu item.
Balance control is disabled for <Flat>.
(1) Flat: You can adjust brightness level for the entire area of the inside.
(2) Linear: This pattern generates a gradient brightness level.
(3) Quad: Brightness is lower at the center.
(4) RevQuad: Brightness is lower at both sides, contrary to Quad.
(5) Cubic: This generates a wavy brightness curve.
<Tips>
If you want to set the level slider at the 0 value, click on the slider while holding Option key down. This also works the same on the outside level control.
• <Inside Pattern Balance control>-------------
The transition becomes greater as the value increases. The values are 1 to 100%.
The effect of this parameter setting is displayed in the rectangular Real-Time Viewer.
• <Inside Pattern Level control>-------------
Inside pattern becomes darker as the value decreases. The values are -100 to +100.
Like Balance control, the effect of this parameter setting is displayed in the rectangular Real-Time Viewer.
When you have selected <Flat>, the value 0 does not give any change to the base image inside.
• <Inside Pattern Direction button>-------------
You can choose the direction of the inside pattern out of six preset directions.
When you select <Flat>, the shading direction is disabled.
<BaseEffect-Block>
• <Effect Type For Base Image menu>-------------
<BaseEffect> has three types.
(1) Brightness
This type uses the base image and changes its brightness to create bevel.
If you select this type, the Parameter Viewer at the center becomes grayscale and does not show the base image itself.
(2) GrayScale
Select GrayScale when using layering functions. (Applications other than Photoshop may not support this mode)
You can use various functions such as screen and overlay rather than applying Brightness if you use layering in the host application.
Note:
The Parameter Viewer becomes grayscale.
(3) MonoColor
This type creates bevel based on a single color you select. The base image is overwritten.
The selected color is shown in Color Picker box on the right of the menu.
Please read the next section "Foreground Color For Mono-Color box" for information on changing the color.
• <Foreground Color For Mono-Color box>-------------
This box shows the selected color when MonoColor is selected for BaseEffect.
To change the color, click on the Color Picker box or inside the Sample Color bar (The mouse cursor changes to an eye-dropper when the mouse is on Color Picker box). Drag the mouse while the button down. You can pick up a color with the eye-dropper anywhere on the screen, even outside DekoBoko dialog. The color in the box reflects the color under the eye-dropper. Also shown are the values of Red, Green, and Blue for the color in the box.
• <Sample Color bar or Grayscale bar>-------------
You can pick up a color from the bar with eye-dropper tool to set in Color Picker box. You may select the color from the full color and grayscale bars or pick up a color anywhere outside the bar.
<ParameterViewer>-------------
ParameterViewer at the center of DekoBoko window is always landscape of a fixed size.
Each time you change a parameter, ParameterViewer reflects the change automatically.
If you don't want to update the preview automatically, change a parameter while holding Option key down. The ParameterViewer will not be updated.
Saving and removing user parameters -------------
• <+> button
If you want to save the current parameters setting, click on this button.
A dialog opens and you can name the parameters setting. If the same name already exists, an error message is displayed. Enter another name.
• <-> button
If you want to remove the currently selected parameters setting from the Parameters Setting pop-up, click on this button.
You can not remove the default <Standard> setting.
• <Standard> parameters setting pop-up menu
The pop-up shows the currently selected parameters.
The default setting is <Standard>. If you add your own settings, they appear in this menu.
You can return to the default setting at any time by selecting <Standard> from this pop-up menu.

--------------------------
<Tips>
--------------------------
When you create a button with the DekoBoko filter, combine more than one outside patterns instead of applying it only once. Applying these multiple effects creates a unique visual pattern.
Examples:
Use Deko after Slope-OutIn
Use Deko after Gradient-TL
For the second filter application you may want to select Flat for the inside pattern with the level set to 0 in order to keep the inside pattern unchanged.
